VEEDERSBURG – Herman Neal Briner, Veedersburg native, died Tuesday in the Tall Trees Nursing Home at Covington. Mr. Briner, 76, had been in declining health for the last eight years. A longtime employee of the Fountain Foundry, he retired from the firm 10 years ago. Mr. Briner was a member of the Veedersburg United Methodist Church. The deceased served in the National Guard. Born on June 5, 1893, he was the son of Monroe and Rose Kerr Briner. He was first married in 1915 to Lois Shaffer who preceded him in death. He was subsequently married to Acie Adair Streeder on May 11, 1914. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Charles A. Briner of Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ellen Grady of Miami, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Kathryn Trosper of Jonesboro; four granddaughters, four step-granddaughters and three step great-granddaughters. The deceased was the last of three children. Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Fishero Funeral Home at Veedersburg with Rev. Raymond Buskirk in charge. Burial will be Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
