Funeral services for Paul Wilson Briner, age 54, resident of 611 Pearl St., Covington and former Fountain County Recorder, who died at 7 a. m. Saturday, Sept. 5, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Mr. Briner died in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he was a patient four days following a heart attack. He was born Dec. 11, 1909 in Veedersburg, the son of Mrs. Carson Wilson Briner and the late Goldsmith Briner. He was a graduate of the Covington Community High School with the class of 1930. He was a member of the Covington Methodist Church, Fountain Lodge No. 60, F. &AM, and Tidal Lodge No. 36, Knights of Pythians, all of Covington. He had served two full terms as Fountain County Recorder and one term as deputy recorder. He had been a resident of Covington since 1928 and had been engaged in radio work and electronics. Surviving are: his mother, with whom he made his home; one sister, Miss Maxine Briner of Indianapolis and several aunts and uncles. The Rev. Donald Ashley, pastor of the Covington Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
