Funeral services were held Saturday at Kingman for William P. Brooks who had died on the previous Wednesday after a long illness. He was born Feb 12, 1865 in Fountain County, Indiana the son of Stephan and Catherine Sowers Brooks. In 1900 he married Minnie Livengood who survives. Most of his life had been spent in Parke & Fountain Counties. He retired from farming in 1935. Survivors besides the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Merle Shoaf of Kingman; and Mrs. Velma Howard of near Kingman; two sons, Eston and Fred, both of Kingman; 10 granchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. He was a member of Kingman EUB Church.
