Mellott – Raleigh R. Brooks, 62 of Mellott died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday in Robert Long Hospital, Indianapolis, where he had been a patient most of the time since he became ill last September. He made his home with his sister, Mrs. Stephen A. Wade. A native of Shawnee Township, Fountain County, he spent most of his life in the county. He had resided here for four years and earlier had lived in Michigan.  Mr. Brooks was a serviceman for the Helgers Home Equipment Company here. Surviving with the sister are a daughter, Mrs. James Collins of Attica and brother, David of Williamsport. - kbz

Raleigh R. Brooks, 62 died at 12:30 a. m. Saturday, May 10, at Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient since last September. Mr. Brooks was born Sept. 28, 1895, the son of Harry and Rosie David Brooks. Born in Shawnee Township, Fountain County for the past four years he had been making his home with his sister, Mrs. Stephen A. Wade in Mellott. Before his illness he was employed at Helgers Home Equipment firm in Mellott. Surviving in addition to the sister are a daughter, Mrs. James Collins of Attica, and a brother, David Brooks of Williamsport. The body was at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro and services were held there at 2 p. m. Monday, May 12. The Rev. R. H. Peters, pastor of the Mellott Congregational Christian Church officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro.  --typed by Walt W
