Roland Lee "Jake" Brooks, 60, Covington, died 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in his home. Mr. Brooks worked as a pressman for 27 years at Devro TeePak, before retiring due to ill health. He was a First Church of Christ member, coached Little League, and helped start the Covington soccer program. He was a Williamsport High School graduate. He moved from Williamsport to Covington in 1965. He was born March 15, 1943, at Attica, to Roland T. and Mary Koekenberg Brooks. He married Cherrie Auter on July 25, 1965, at Williamsport. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Polly Chumley, Covington; a son, Brad, Indianapolis; seven sisters, Shirley Zenor, Attica, Kay Painter, Kemp, Texas, Sandy Booe, Mellott, Delores Chambers, Indianapolis, Alice Howard and Sharon Long, both of Williamsport, and Helen Wagner, Peru; and two grandchildren. His parents and two brothers are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Sunday in Shelby Funeral Home, 622 Third St., Covington, with the Rev. Randy Walters officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home and before services Sunday. -- contributed
