Waynetown – Alta E. Brown, 101 formerly of Waynetown, died at 4 a.m. today in the Ben Hurt Nursing Home at Crawfordsille where she had lived the last 8 years. She belonged to the Baptist Church. She had lived at Waynetown since 1935. Born July 6, 18787, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of Ambrose and jerusha Huff Fruits. She was married in 1896 to William a. Brown, who preceded her in death. She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Faye Cruea and Mrs. Hazel Harpel, both of Crawfordsville and two nephews, Walter J. and Donald Harpel, both of Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 pm. Wednesday. - kbz
