Brown – Funeral services for Asa E. Brown, 81 of Medora R 1, were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Presbyterian Church at Brownstown in charge of the Rev. George Clayman, pastor. Burial in Fairview cemetery. Mr. Brown died August 16 at 11:45 a.m. of arteriosclerosis at the home of Samuel Noland on Medora R1.  He had been bedfast a year at the Nowland residence. He was born the son of Philip Mark and Eliza Campbell Brown at Mellott, Sept 1, 1868. He had been married in early life but his wife died many years ago.  A retired farmer, Mr. Brown had only lived in Jackson County the past ten years. Surviving are a daughter, Edna Cooper of Danville, Illinois and sister, Mrs. Mary Ferguson of Anaheim, California. - kbz
