Charles Andrew Brown, 78, of Williamsport Route 1, died in Community Hospital in Williamsport at 5 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 14, 1969) after being a patient there one hour. He had been ill two years but death was unexpected. Born in Fountain, Ind., Nov. 30, 1890 he was the son of Harrison Wray and Emma Dorliski Hopkins Brown. He lived east of Attica several years and had lived in Carbondale 23 years. He was married Dec. 19, 1912 at Covington to Leota Ritchey who preceded him in death April 29, 1966. A graduate of West Lebanon High, Mr. Brown had attended Valparaiso University. He was a former school teacher, a retired farmer and had been employed at National Homes Inc. in Lafayette for 12 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Doris) Mitchell of Hoopeston, Ill., Rt. 3, and Mrs. Edward (Betty) Bacon of Ambia Rt. 1 and three grandchildren. Friends will be received at DeSutter Funeral Home after 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Services will be there at 2:30 p.m. Friday with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery.   --Typed by RS
