Hillsboro - Dallas L. Brown, 71, died Dec 8 at Lake Isabella, Calif. He was a retired warrant officer in the US Navy. He served in WWII in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters and was recalled to serve in the Korean War. Born Dec 18, 1909 at Veedersburg, his parents were Charles I. and Nellie Cartwright Brown Wilder. He is survived by his wife, Joan; two brothers, Arthur of Mishawaka and James of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Hines of HIllsboro and a stepsister, Mrs Edith Miller of South Bend; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Joan and three brothers. Funeral services and burial was held in California.

Dallas L. Brown of Lake Isabella, California, formerly of Veedersburg, age 81, died Wednesday, December 9, in Lake Isabella. He was born at Veedersburg, December 18, 1909, the son of Charles and Nellie Cartwright Brown. A Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he was a retired warrant officer.
  Survivors are the widow, Joan; a sister, Evelyn Hines of Hillsboro; two brothers, Arthur of Mishawaka and James of Indianapolis; a stepsister, Edith Miller of South Bend; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
