Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Mrs. Doris S. Brown. 76, of 508 S. Glover, Urbana, a former Danville resident, died at 7:25 p.m. Thursday (May 22, 1969) in Mercy Hospital in Urbana. She moved to Champaign-Urbana from Danville in 1922. Born Dec. 10, 1892, in Rileysburg, Ind., she was a daughter of George and Loella Martin Sparks. She was married Sept. 1, 1914, in Danville to Clyde B. Brown who preceded her in death April 15, 1952. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Webber Street Church of Christ. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Durst, Mrs. Charles (Delores) Warren, Mrs. Kenneth (Elsie Harshbarger, all Urbana, Mrs. Mel (Lola) Klitzing of Champaign, Mrs. Arthur (Doris) Meyer of Beardstown, and Mrs. Lucille Smith of Waycross, Ga. Also, two sons Clyde of Urbana and Virgil, Danville; a brother, William Sparks of Fithian; 25 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a daughter, two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Webber Street Church of Christ. John Pierce will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana. Friends will be received at the Renner-Wikoff Funeral Home, 1900 S. Philo Road, 7-9 p.m. Saturday. – jlr
