George Gerrald Brown, 71 Route 1, Attica, died at his residence Friday, Aug. 1 at 10 a. m. Death was unexpected. He suffered a heart attack at his home. He was born in Shawnee Township, Fountain County, Aug. 9, 1914, the son of George W. and Gertrude Darling Brown. He spent most of his winter months in St. Petersburg, Fla. For the past 21 years, however, he lived all his life in Shawnee Township where he had farmed. He was married Sept. 1, 1937, in Veedersburg, to Lorene Ricketts, who survives. He attended Attica High School and was a retired farmer, and had also drove a school bus for about 23 years. He was a former member of the United Brethen Church, Veedersburg, Wabash Lodge No. 708 F. &A. M., Attica. Surviving, besides his wife, are one son, Kenneth Brown, Attica; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Nancy) Miller, Frankfort, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica with John L. Brown officiating. Sankey Raisor rendered favorite selections on the organ which included "Beyound the Sunset", "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace. " Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Those who served as pallbearers were Sam Philips, Max Foster, August Schmid, Ronald Tuggle, Clark Dinwiddie and James Donald Brown.
