Homer Clay "Shorty'' Brown, 79, of Veedersburg Route 1, died Wednesday (Sept. 3, 1969) at the Logansport Hospital. He had been ill the past two years and seriously ill three months. Born Sept. 28, 1889, in Bismarck, Ill., he was the son of Willard and Lucinda Trinkle Brown. He was married Oct. 24, 1910, to Fern Phillips, who survives. Mr. Brown had resided in the Veedersburg area, for the past 21 years moving from north of Pence in Warren County and was a retired farmer. He had attended Bismarck schools and was a member of the New Liberty Church. Other survivors include five sons, Richard of Williamsport, Robert of West Lebanon, Donald and Albert, both of Attica, and Homer of Kingman; three daughters, Mrs. Marora Hetrick and Mrs. Mary Gorden, both of Williamsport, and Mrs. Elizabeth Linauge of Potomac; a brother Guy of Bismarck; a sister, Mrs. Lytia Young of Homer, Mich., 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandson. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Bismarck Church of Christ. Kenneth Fetters will officiate. Burial will be in Gundy Cemetery. The body is at the Morrison Funeral Home in Bismarck. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Thursday. --typed by: JR
