COVINGTON - Funeral services for John Parks Brown, age 71, of Danville, Ill., husband of the former Jessie Martin of Covington, who was killed Wednesday, July 31, in a two-car collision on the Perrysville Road, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Don C. Goodwin of Danville officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Mr. Brown was born March 26, 1897, at Mt. Vernon, Ill., the son of Edmond and Sarah Hogue Brown. He was married June 6, 1926 in Danville to Jessie Martin, who survives. He attended the First Church of Christ here. He was a member of the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge 38 of Danville and the Danville Laborers Local 624. Mr. Brown was an Army Veteran of World War I. Also surviving are: three sons, Joseph and Earl of Danville and Larry of Bloomington; one daughter, Donna Brown, at home; one brother, Lester Brown of Tilton, Ill., and several grandchildren.  --Typed by RS (and Karen thanks you greatly)
