Mellott — Mrs. Nell D. (Gott) Brown, 68, former Mellott resident, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Americana Nursing Center at Urbana, Ill. She had been in failing health three years. A native of this community, she was a daughter of Zelora R. and Della M. Gott and was born March 15, 1899. She married John A. Brown of Hillsboro in July, 1916. He died May 1, 1964. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Cecil of South Bend, recently retired from the Air Force; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Whittaker of Urbana, Mrs. Joe Million of Veedersburg and Mrs. Lucille Borst of Attica; a brother, Lloyd Gott of Mellott, and two grandchildren. Funeral rites will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery there. Rev. James Dyson of the Veedersburg Christian Church will be the minister. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
