Mellott - Mrs. Ruby Hazel Brown, 71, formerly of Mellott died at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Indiana State Soldiers Home at Lafayette where she had been a resident the past six years.
Mrs. Brown was born Aug 6, 1900, the daughter of Amy and Katherine Bennett Short. She was married to Floyd Brown who preceded her in death in 1954.

She was a member of the Mellott Christian Church and was educated in Fountain County schools. She resided all her life in Mellott until the past six years.
Mrs. Brown was born Aug 6, 1900, the daughter of Amy and Katherine Bennett Short. She was married to Floyd Brown who preceded her in death in 1954.
She is survived by a son, Donald R. of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Lavera Lowe of Veedersburg and five grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday - kbz
