Virgil Lee Brown, age 68, of Hillsboro, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 2, in the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient 3 1/2 months. Mr. Brown was a corporal in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II. He attended Mellott High School. He was a plasterer and cement finisher. A Hillsboro native, he was born Dec. 21, 1898, the son of Frank and Margaret McAllister Brown. He was never married. Surviving are: one sister, Mrs. Iva Wilson of Hillsboro; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. John Servies officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
