BROWNFIELD, Lester James

Lester James Brownfield, 60, Covington, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at Williamsport Community Hospital.

  Born May 29, 1922 in Kankakee, Illinois, he was the son of Walter and Katherine Madison Brownfield. He married Pearl N. Coley June 2, 1939 in Winamac, who survives. He was a retired heavy machine operator and a member of the Baptist Church.

  Other survivors include two sons, James L. of Veteran, Wyoming and Kenneth A. of Brook; four daughters, Mrs. Franklin Fleck, Mrs. William Gibbs and Mrs. Dwayne Krout, all of Covington and Mrs. Don Hileman of Rensselaer; four brothers, Raymond of Morocco, Maurice of California, Marion of Fountain, Colorado, and Cecil of Lake Village; three sisters, Mrs. Evaline Coley of Rensselaer, Mrs. Edna Benedict and Mrs. Katherine Russell, both of Lake Village; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

  Services were conducted in Rensselaer with Rev. Royal Voeller officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens at Rensselaer. Jackson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. – thanks to S
