Veedersburg – Harry N. Bruner, 77, died in his home here Friday at 10 p.m. after an illness of two years with a heart ailment. Born at Wallace, he married Lula Howard in 1903. He was a member of Wallace Christian Church was a retired farmer and custodian of Sterling graded school. Surviving are the widow; one son, Ray of Alamo; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Smith of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Lois Lightle of Veedersburg; one brother, John of Crawfordsville and one sister, Mrs. Daisy Michaels of New Market. – kbz

Harry Nelson Bruner, son of Jasper and Sarah Keller Bruner, was born on a farm near Wallace on January 12 1878, and passed away September 16 1955, at 10:00 p.m. at his home in Sterling after an illness of two years, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 4 days. He united with the Wallace Christian Church at an early age. On December 31 1903, he was married to Lulu May Howard and to this union three children were born, Ray Bruner of Alamo, Thelma Smith of Crawfordsville and Lois Lightle of Veedersburg.
Harry was a farmer the greater part of his life and for the past ten years was employed as custodian at the Sterling grade school. Surviving besides the wife and three children are three grandsons, Richard Bruner of the US Navy, Lt. Keith Smith of the US Army and Gary Lightle; one granddaughter Mary Lou Lightle and two great grandsons; one brother John Bruner of
Crawfordsville and one sister, Daisy Michaels of near New Market. A sister Gertrude Lowe preceded him in death. His friendly and sunny disposition made for him a host of friends. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor and friends who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. - kbz

Veedersburg - Harry N. Bruner, 77, custodian of the Sterling grade school died Friday afternoon at his home in Veedersburg. He had been ill two years with a heart ailment. Born Jan 12, 1878 at Wallace, Mr. Bruner was the son of Jasper and Sarah Keller Bruner. He married Lula Howard Dec 31, 1903. During most of his life he had engaged in farming. Surviving are the widow, a son, Ray Bruner of Alamo; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Smith of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Lois Lightle of Veedersburg; a brother, John Bruner of Crawfordsville; and a sister, Mrs. Daisy Michaels of New Market.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg, followed by burial at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Rev. Wamsley will officiate - kbz
