Mrs. Jessie H. Bruner, 82, of 510 E. Main St., a resident here the last 25 years, died in Culver Hospital Thursday morning after an illness of several months. She had been in the hospital since last Friday. A native of north of Waynetown, she was a daughter of Alvah and Elizabeth Ellis Hesler and was born Oct. 12, 1885. She was educated in Montgomery County schools and married John Lee Bruner on Oct. 12, 1901. He died Jan. 13, 1959. They began housekeeping near Hillsboro, later living near Wallace and near Whitesville before moving to this city. Mrs. Bruner was a member of the First Christian Church, Circle II of the Christian Women's Fellowship, Builders Class and Crawfordsvile Home Demonstration Club. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Vera E. Bruner, and son, Alva D. Bruner, both of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Ella Dwiggins of Pasadena, Calif., and brother, Forest Hesler of Crawfordsville. Preceding Mrs. Bruner in death were a son, Leslie, and daughter, Dorothy, and two brothers, Harry and Jim Hesler. Services are announced for 2 p.m. Saturday at Bright Funeral Home. Rev. Howard F. Miller will officiate, with interment in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie H. Bruner were held Saturday afternoon at the Bright Funeral Home. Rev. Howard F. Miller, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiated. Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the floral tributes were Marvin Hesler of Stockwell, Ray Bruner of Alamo, Okel Hesler, Gerald Hesler, Robert Patton and James L. Clem of Crawfordsville. Curtis E. Bright was organist. Burial was beside her husband, John Lee Bruner, in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.   -– jlr
