Joseph H. Bruner, 82, native of Fountain County died about 5 o'clock Friday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bernard Kelly, 911 West Pike Street. Death followed an illness of ten weeks with a complication of ailments. Mr. Bruner was born near Wallace, Fountain County on August 23, 1857, the son of Jacob and Mary Barkley Bruner. Before ill health forced his retirement he was a carpenter and contractor. He had been a resident of this city for the past eight years and prior to that time had lived in the Waynetown and HIllsboro communities. Mr. Bruner was twice married first in 1880 to Margaret Williams. Of the three children born to this marriage, one daughter, Della Cummings preceded her father in death. His wife died in 1890 and in 1895 Mr. Bruner was married to Laura Stevens, who also preceded Mr. Bruner in death. She died in 1932. Two children were born of the second marriage. The four children surviving the deceased are Clarence Bruner of Indianapolis and Mrs. Julia Boyle of this city, children of his first marriage and Mrs. Lena Armentrout of Indianapolis and Mrs. Louise Kelly of Crawfordsville who were both of the second marriage. One brother, William Bruner of Wallace also survives. Friends may pay thier respect at the Utterback & Murphy Funeral Home where the body will remain until the funeral which will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
