Mrs. Mollie A. Burchett, 85, died at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Covington Manor Nursing Home. She was the mother of Mrs. Grover Rice of Covington.
She was born June 14, 1897 in Jonesville, the daughter of James and Martha Harris Hines. She married Ellis Burchett June 29, 1918, who died May 2, 1960. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church of Jonesville, Virginia.
Survivors include a son, Harold of Danville, Illinois; six other daughters, Mrs. Louise Minor of Jonesville, Mrs. Virginia Ramsey of New Haven, Mrs. Mearl Ramsey of Sneedville, Tennessee, Mrs. Annette Webber of Sarasota, Florida, Mrs. Faye Maynard of Danville, Illinois, and Mrs. Phyllis Madaus of Orlando, Florida; two brothers and four sisters, all in Virginia; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and a great great grandchildren.
Services were conducted Friday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. – thanks to S
