BURLINGTON, (Dr) J. Roy

Attica, Feb 2 – Dr. J. Roy Burlington, 65, Attica physician 44 years and past president of the Rainbow Division Association of Indiana  died at 12:50 p.m. today in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette where he had been a patient four days.  In the World War, Dr. Burlington was a Medical Corps Major in the AEF and spent 18 months abroad. He had also served two terms as Fountain County Coroner, as president of the Ninth District Medical Association, and as commander of the American Legion Post 51 of Attica. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite, Modern Woodmen, K of P, Mystic Shrine and Fountain County Medical Society.  Dr. Burlington spent nearly his entire life in this community having graduated from the old Central College of Physicians and Surgeons in Indianapolis. He was born Aug 10, 1875 in Decatur, Ill and married Miss Katherine Foster, who survives with a son, Jay C. at home.  Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the family residence here where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. burial in Beulah Cemetery south of here.
