HILLSBORO – Edna Burns, 76, of Jacksonville, Fla., a retired teacher formerly of Fountain County, died Thursday morning at Jacksonville. Mrs. Burns was a member of the Lutheran Church at Indianapolis. She was a graduate of Veedersburg High School and had attended Madam Blaker’s School at Indianapolis and Indiana State Normal at Terre Haute. She was born on Dec. 10, 1896 in Fountain County, a daughter of Joseph L. and Euree Meeker Remster. She married Guy Burns, who died in 1966. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Doris M. Sanders of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Opal Campbell of Hillsboro, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Newtown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Saturday. – jlr
