Attica (CNS) - Funeral services for George Burnside, 61, prominent farmer north of Newtown, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Newtown Baptist Church. The Rev. Dean O. Luginbill, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Old Baptist Cemetery near Newtown with the Coffing & Robinson Funeral Home of Attica in charge. The body was taken to the family residence Sunday afternoon where it will remain until time for services. Mr. Burnside was injured fatally Saturday afternoon when his arm and leg were caught in a corn picker at his farm home. His son, James Lee, 15, had hauled a load of corn to the crib and found his father dead from shock and loss of blood when he returned to the field. Mr. Burnside's arm and leg had been mangled and torn from his body. He was born Mar. 29, 1889 at Judson, Ind., the son of James and Sarah Smiley Burnside. He was married in 1933 to Carrie Smith of Newtown who survives. Also surviving besides his wife and son are three sisters, Mrs. Grace Osborn of Pine Village, Mrs. Elba Studer and Mrs. Iva Hickman, both of Morocco, and two brothers Frank and Charles, also of Morocco.  --typed by: JR

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Baptist church for George Burnside with the Rev. Dean Luginbill, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating assisted by the Rev. J. E. Dearmin, pastor. Music was furnished by Mrs. Harold Shultz, Mrs. Chester Howard and Mrs. George Lawton accompanied by Mrs. Robert Martin. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Martin, Jack Alfrey, John Kell, Allen Hickman, Lawrence Kirkpatrick and Clinton Florey. Flower bearers were Charles Martin, Charles Florey, David McKnight, James Robinson, Kedrick Krug, Dick Spear, Norman Martin and Phillip Galloway. Burial was made in the Old Baptist cemetery near Newtown. Mr. Burnside was killed in a corn picker accident at his home near Newtown.  --typed by: JR Newtown
