Rhoda Jane (Finch) Burroughs, 72, Crawfordsville, died in Holy Cross Parkview Hospital, Plymouth, Wednesday, July 23. At that time she was residing at her daughter's, Jane Gaskill, Culver….She was born in Hillsboro Jan. 9, 1914, to Perle and Rachael Poland Finch. She was married to William Leslie Burroughs of Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death July 11, 1955….She was a choral director in the Royal Center School for four years and one year in the Attica schools. Later she taught music in Crawfordsville for 20 years….She received her degree in music from DePauw University in 1937, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She received her elementary license from Butler University and her art license from Danville Normal….She was a member of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, church choir., Tri Kappa, Daughters of American Revolution, Hillsboro Fern Chapter No. 194, Order of Eastern Star, Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher's Society….Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. David (Jane) Gaskill, Culver and Mrs. Al (Roxie) Clouse, Crawfordsville; four grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Charles Belles, Hillsboro; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nephews. She was also precded in death by a sister, Bowena Clore, and a brother, Francis Finch….Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hunt and Son Funeral Homes, Crawfordsville. With the Rev. Larimore Wickett officiating. Burial was in Shannondale Cemetery  -- thanks muches, Cheryl :)
