Attica, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Margaret E. Butz, 78, of 506 Third, Attica, died at 1:20 a.m. yesterday (Sept. 20, 1967) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had been a patient there since Friday and had been in ill health since June 26. Born Oct. 18, 1888, in Fountain County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Matilda Devink Van Dame. She had resided all of her life in the Attica community. She was married in 1906 to Matthias Butz, who died in 1941. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, Joseph, William and Bernard, all at home; two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Carnahan and Mrs. Mary VanHook, both of Attica; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Green and Mrs. Nellie Dillman, both of Attica, and Mrs. Josephine Kiser of Covington; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Church with the Rev. Charles Remaklus officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. DeSutter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


ATTICA — Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret E. Butz, age 79, of Attica, who died Wednesday, Sept. 20, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, were held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Church here. The Rev. Charles Remaklus officiated and burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery. The DeSutter Funeral Home of Attica was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Butz was born Oct. 18, 1888, in Fountain County, the daughter of Joseph and Matilda Devink Van Dame. She had resided all of her life in the Attica community.
