Floyd Otto Byers died Thursday morning at Home Hospital in Lafayette after an illness of six months and period of hospitalization which lasted nearly six weeks.  He was 67.  He was a retired farmer and had resided in Linden for three years.  He was a farmer and had resided in Linden for three years.  He was a former resident of Mellott, where he lived for 15 years and of Jackson Twp in Tippecanoe County.  He attended Jackson Twp schools and the Methodist Church in Jackson Heights. In February 1918 he was married to Esther M. Patterson of Lafayette.  Survivors include the widow, one son, Charles of Romney three brothers, Lowell and Everett of West Point and Clarence of Lafayette; four sisters, Mrs. Mamie Barns and Mrs. Howard Snouwaert of New Richmond; Mrs. Fannie Prather of West Point and Mrs. Frank Swanson of Lafayette; three grandchidlren and several nieces and nephews.  Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Helms Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Murphy officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery.
