COVINGTON -- Charles Emerson Cadman, 69, a retired salesman of Allis-Chalmers Co. here, died at noon Wednesday in a nursing home at Hoopston, Ill. where he had been a patient since December, 1971. Mr. Cadman was born Aug. 9, 1904, in Fountain County, a son of William and Malisa Johnson Cadman. He was married to Thelma I. Kates who died Jan. 20, 1941. Surviving are nieces and nephews, the Rev. Dale Cadman of Perrysville; Russell and Robert Cadman of Danville; Wilmer Cadman of Rt. 1, Covington; Mrs. Maxine Smith of Rt. 3, Covington; Mrs. Mary Anderson of Rt. 1, Cayuga and Mrs. Martha Newell of Perrysville. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Bodine-Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Cadman officiating. Burial will be in Harveysburg Cemetery. Friends may call between 7 and 9 p.m. today. - waw

Charles Emerson Cadman, 69, died at noon Wednesday (Jan. 9, 1974) at the Hoopeston, Ill., Nursing Home. He had been a patient there since December of 1971.

  Born Aug. 9, 1904 in Fulton Township, Fountain County, he was the son of William and Melissa Johnson Cadman. He married Thelma I. Cates, who died Jan. 20, 1941.

  He resided in Cates and Covington most of his life. He moved to Danville, Ill., in 1969 where he resided until moving to the nursing home.

  He was a former salesman for Allis-Chalmers.

  Survivors include four nephews, Russell Cadman and Robert Cadman, both of Danville, the Rev. Dale Cadman of Perrysville and Wilmer Cadman of Covington Route 1; and three nieces, Mrs. Maxine Smith of Covington Route 3, Mrs. Mary Anderson of Cayuga Route 1 and Mrs. Martha Newell of Perrysville.

  He was preceded in death by two brothers.

  Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Cadman officiating. Burial was in Harveysburg Cemetery. – thanks to S
