Arthur T. Calvert, 77, of Kingman Rt. 1, passed away at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville, Ill., 3:25 p.m. Nov. 21. He had been in ill health for five years and in critical condition the last 60 days. He was born in Vermillion County at Gessie, Nov. 16, 1892, the son of Wickleiff and Nettie Calvert. He was a farmer in the Fountain County area all of his life. He was married in 1920 to Eva Irene Barkley at Perrysville. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are four sons, Charles of Lapel, Ind., William of Oxford, Ala., Clarence of Kalamazoo, Mich., and James of West Lebanon; and one daughter, Mrs. Betty McCown of West Lebanon. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1958 and three sons. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Baptist Church. The funeral was conducted from the Crowmer-Siddens Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday, by the Rev. Kenneth Littleford. Burial was in the Bonebrake Cemetery at Veedersburg. Crowmer-Siddens Mortuary at West Lebanon was in charge.
