WILLIAMSPORT — Wilbur “Web” F. Campbell, 77, 412 Old State Road 28, Williamsport, died at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2002 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. He was born July 26, 1924 in Attica, the son of Charles and Genevieve Hutson Campbell. He married Emma Katheryn “Pat” Carlson March 9, 1946 in Attica. She preceded in death Aug. 1, 1995. He was raised in Attica and attended Attica High School. He served in the U. S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked as a lineman and repairman for Indiana Bell Telephone Company for 35 years. At the time of his retirement in 1979 he worked as a facilitator assigner. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #3318 of Attica, member of the American Legion Post #259 of Williamsport and the Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge #2596, both of Attica. Survivors include: a daughter: Patti (Don) Brown, Attica, a niece, Tedi (Charles) Stafford, Attica; and a nephew, John (Sharon) Dill, Attica. He was preceded in death by his sister, Viola Mae Allen April 11, 2002. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial with military gravesite services were in Salem Cemetery, east of Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. – jlr
