Marie CANINE Nov 25, 1934 March 4, 1997 M. Marie CANINE, 62 of Crawfordsville died at 1 p. Tuesday in her home at 109 Walnut Hills. Mrs. Canine was a corporate secretary-treasurer of Banjo Corp. for 38 years. She established the Marie Canine Foundation for the Funding of Local Charities and Scholarships. She was a member of the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club at Leesburg, the Royal Palm Yacht Club at Fort Myers, Florida and the Lady Elks of Crawfordsville. She attended Attica schools. She was born Nov. 25, 1934 to Glen and Wilma KOCHELL in Warren County. She married Jack K. Canine August 24, 1952. He survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Cynthia Sowder of Lebanon and Debora Gillen and Jill Parker both of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Dr. Richard Kochell of Janesville, Wisconsin and James Kochell of Covington; five sisters, Francis Flynn of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; Barbara Wilson and Jane Moudy both of Covington, Judy Payton of Veedersburg and Susan Pritchard of Stone Bluff; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Glen Kochell Jr. and Dale Kochell. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Hansen and friends officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Hunt & Son.
