Napoleon G. (Nap) Cardiff, age 90, a former resident of Indianapolis and a resident of Covington for the past year and a half, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient 12 days. Mr. Cardiff was born Oct. 9, 1873 in Covington. He had been employed in the district office of the Indiana Public Service Co., at Indianapolis for 26 years. He was married Jan. 7, 1893, to Eunice Ruth Simmerman, who preceded him in death in 1940. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Covington. Survivors include a niece, Mrs. George Neher of Lisle, Ill. He was preceded in death by a daughter. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. Father Vernon of Lafayette officiated. Burial, with the Hegg Funeral Home in charge, was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, north of Covington.
