Miss Ada Frances Carithers, age 78, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at her home near Gessie, Covington Rt. 2. She had been in ill health three years and seriously ill one week. Miss Carithers was born in Highland Township, Vermillion County, Ind., Dec. 23, 1887, the daughter of William P. and Mary Agnes Jones Carithers. She was a life-resident of Highland Twp., and attended Evangelical United Brethren churches in Rileysburg and Gessie. She made her home with her sister, Nellie, and brother, Harold. She is survived by two sisters, Miss Nellie, with whom she lived, and Mrs. Grace Blossom of Bremerton, Wash.; two brothers, Harold, of Covington Rt. 2 and Dale Carithers of Mission San Jose, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 3.30 p.m. Sunday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Colon Parks officiated and burial was in Lower Mound Cemetery, southwest of Covington. Serving as pallbearers were: Amos Gouty, Roscoe Long, Bill Richardson Jr., Ralph Richardson, Dewey Prather and Philip Carithers.--waw
