PERRYSVILLE, Ind. — Margaret
Joanne Carithers, 75, of Perrysville, died at 1:27 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008,
at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Danville,
Ill., daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Jones) Carithers. She was a
1950 graduate of Perrysville High School, and Indiana State University in 1970
with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in 1971. She taught home
economics at North Vermillion High School from 1971 until retiring in 1992. She
then earned her LPN from Danville Area Community College and was employed at
Danville Polyclinic. She enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed a trip to
Australia. Surviving are a sister, Judy Cavender of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a
sister-in-law, Carol Carithers of Tucson, Ariz.; and a nephew, Marlin Jay
Cavender of Middletown, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by a brother,
Philip Carithers. Friends will be received from 57 p.m. EST Tuesday, March 4 at
the Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Services will be at 1 p.m. EST Wednesday,
March 5 at the funeral home with William Nickle officiating. Interment will
follow in Hicks Cemetery, Perrysville. –
