ATTICA — Berlie Irene (Kirts)
Carlson, 97, formerly of Attica and had been residing in Ruston, La., died
Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000 in Lincoln General Hospital, Ruston, La., following a
lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 13, 1902 in Warren County, the daughter of
Thomas and Laura Reed Kirts. She married Earl C. Carlson March 8, 1927 in
Danville, Ill. He preceded in death Nov. 19, 1990. She had lived in Attica for
many years and had lived in Ruston for the past few years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: a daughter, Dorothy “Dottie" White, Ruston, La.; three
grandchildren, Earl Clinton (Donna) White, Greenwell Springs, La., Monique
(Carroll) Krouse, Tyler, Texas and Nadine (Phillip) Johnson, Ruston, La.; and
three great-grandchildren, Brandi White, Gilbert, La.; Caylee Krouse, Tyler,
Texas; and Earl Clinton White, Jr., Greenwell Springs, La. She was also
preceded in death by her parents, a brother and four sisters. Funeral services
were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor John DeSanto
officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. – jlr
