Arthur Q. Capenter, 72, Gettysburg RD1 died yesterday morning at 6:20 o’clock at the Annie M. Warner Hospital, Gettysburg from a heart attack. He had been a patient at the hospital for about 10 days. Mr. Carpenter was a native of Fountain County, Ind and moved to Adams County in January 1948 from Takoma, Md following his retirement as a farmer. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Avie E. (Sweeney) Carpenter to whom he had been married for 40 years Four children, Phyllis and Iris carpenter, both of New Orleans, LA; Mrs. Eleanor Cruze, Takoma, Md; and Joseph A. Carpenter, Gettysburg RD 1; eight grandchildren and two great grand grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1:20 p.m. from the 7th Day Adventist Sligo Church, Takoma Park with Elder George S. Rapp officiating. Interment will be in Washington Memorial cemetery, Hillendale, Md. Friends may call at the Waltrus Funeral Home, Takoma, Md tonight. - kbz
