Perrysville, Ind. - Carl Carson Carpenter, 91, of Perrysville, died at 1:15 p.m. yesterday (Dec. 6, 1966) in the Vermilion Nursing Home at Danville where he had been a patient since Aug 23, 1962. He had been in ill health several years. Mr. Carpenter founded the Perrysville Telephone Co. in 1902 and owned and operated it for 48 years. He also owned the Perrysville Flour Mill for several years. He had served two terms as Highland Township trustees. Born Aug. 12, 1875, in Rainsville, Ind., he was a son of Benjamin O. and Mary Davidson Carpenter. He was married Sept. 6, 1905, to Madge Richardson who survives. Also surviving are a son, Dr. Donald L. Carpenter of Danville; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Alice Lett of West Lafayette and Mrs. Elizabeth Faucett of Long Island, N.Y.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister. Mr. Carpenter was an 1894 graduate of Perrysville High. He was a member of the Perrysville Methodist Church and the Perrysville IOOF Lodge. Services will be at 1 p.m. (EST) Friday at the Perrysville Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald True officiating. Burial will be in Hicks Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington after 3 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Perrysville Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald True officiated and burial, with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home of Covington in charge, was in Hicks Cemetery, west of Perrysville
