Mary M. Carr of Attica, formerly of Hillsboro, age 70, died Friday evening, July 22, at her home. She was born at Crawfordsville, October 19, 1912, the daughter of John William and Mylinta Ellen Beckett Newlin. May 4, 1967, she married Troy Russell Carr, who died May 14, 1973. Mrs. Carr was a member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary.

  Survivors include four sons, Herbert Ray Newlin of Danville, James Newlin of Terre Haute, Joseph Paul Newlin of Ladoga and Thomas Newlin of Crawfordsville; six stepdaughters, Mrs. Jene Oxley of Milford, Ohio, Mrs. George Pickett of Williamsport, Mrs. Paul Hyland, Mrs. Robert Rahm and Hazel Hutts, all of Attica, and Mrs. Harold Ridge of Waynetown; two stepsons, Max Carr of Westville and David Carr of Attica; a sister, Gladys Marie Motes of Darlington; a brother, Woodrow Newlin of Crawfordsville; 32 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. John Adams officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. – thanks so much to S
