Attica – Troy R. Carr, 71, of 404 S. 3rd St, died at 1:58 a.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in ill health for some time. Employed for 27 years in the foundry of Harrison Steel Castings Co, he had also worked as a track inspector for the CA&S Railroad. Mr. Carr was born in Yeddo and lived in Veedersburg before moving to Attica 18 years ago. In 1922 he married Mattie Grove who died in 1952. In 1967 he married Mary M. Newlin in Covington and she survives. Mr. Carr was a member of the Attica Eagles Lodge.  Surviving with the wife are 7 daughters: Mrs. Gene Oxley, Milford, Ohio; Mrs. George Pickett, Williamsport; Mrs. Paul Hyland, Mrs. Robert Rahm and Mrs. Hazel Hutts, all of Attica; Mrs. Harold Ridge, Waynetown; Mrs. Robert Polluck, Indianapolis; three sons, Marx and David, both of Attica; Leon, Westville; four stepsons, Herbert Ray Newlin, Danville, Ill; James Arthur and Joseph Paul Newlin both of Terre Haute; Thomas Newlin, Jr. Crawfordsville; and a half sister, Mrs. Florence Stout, Kingman. - kbz
