Shannondale- Mrs. Luttie E. Carrell, 58-year-old resident of this community the past 30 years, died at her home two miles southeast of here Monday evening. She had been in failing health eight years and seriously ill 10 months. Mrs. Carrell was a member of the Newtown Baptist Church, Shannondale Ladies Aid and Jefferson Township Home Economics Club. She was born Aug. 17, 1904, at Crawfordsville, a daughter of Levi J. and Emma Skelton Rusk Pittman. She married Clayton Carrell Feb. 7, 1925. They were married at Crawfordsville. Survivors include her husband; a son, John L. Carrell of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Beverly Jean Gentry of Brazil; two brothers, Pearl and Virgil Pittman, both of Advance; a sister, Mrs. Martha Bowman of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services are announced for 10 a.m. Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Interment will be in the Shannondale Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Wednesday.
