CARROLL, George

Mrs. Lester Rainey of Veedersburg was called to Crawfordsville Saturday, by the critical condition of her father, George Carroll, who was injured in an auto accident.  He had been to the southern part of the state and was returning home with a truck load of peaches when he ws sideswiped by another truck.

Mr. Carroll who was removed to Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville died at 3:50 o'clock Saturday afternoon from injuries received.

Mr. Carroll, who had been engaged in farming near Crawfordsville for 46 years was 65 years old and was born in Tennessee on December 9, 1879.  He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church in Crawfordsville.

He is survived by the widow and four children: Mrs. Kenneth L. Smith, Crawfordsville; Mrs. Lester Rainey, Veedersburg; James Carroll, Crawfordsville; Louise Carroll, at home; four brothers, Frank Carroll near Wingate; Isham, Dudley and Ross Carroll, of Tennesee; six sisters, Oesele of Akron; Mamie, Antha, Lily, Cora and Sally, of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces   --- transcribed by kbz
