Mrs. Alice Carter, a well known Kingman woman, died Saturday morning at 9:15 at her residence after an illness of several years. Born in Kingman Apr 24 1881, she was the daughter of Francis and Mary Ann Hutts Shell. She was married to William E. Carter, Sr. Aug 13 1900 and was a member of the Kingman Chrisian Church. Surviving are her husband; four sons, Hugh of Veedersburg and Donald, Ray and William, all of Kingman; two daughters, Mrs. Josie Brown of Fortville, Ind. and Miss Mary Carter of Indianapolis; a brother Dennis Shell of Indianapolis, a sister, Mrs. Lulu Carter of Arcadia Calif; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by a brother. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Kingman Christian Church with the pastor, George Green, officiating. Burial was in Centennial Cemetery.
