Malinda Jane Weeks Carter, eldest child of Willis S. and Sarah Jane Weeks was born in Orange County Indiana on Oct 19, 1856; and departed this life April 21, 1915 age 58Y 6M 2D. Deceased was united in marriage to John T. Carter Sept 19, 1875 in Orange County. To this union were born 3 children; Addison A; William S and Lula M, all survive. From this Orange County home they moved to Fountain County and settled on a farm where they resided 19 years. She united with the Christian Church at Freedom and was baptized about 28 years ago by Elder ED Simmons. She with her husband moved to Kingman in the spring of 1900 where they resided for 11 years at which place she united with the Christian Church in 1909 where she still retained membership. From Kingman they moved to Plainview Tx where they resided 3 years. Failing in health she returned to In in Aug 1914 hoping to regain her health and nand apparently gained slowly until Saturday April 17 when she received a stroke of paralysis and gradually grew weaker until the end. She leaves a father, 2 sisters 3 brothers a husband 3 children; 5 grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services were held from Centennial church last Thursday. Rev OW McGaughey officiating. Burial in cemetery nearby at Veedersburg.

MRS. JOHN CARTER   died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Weeks, at 5 o’clock Wednesday evening after a lingering illness.   She was 58 years old.  Funeral services will be held from the Centenniel church at 2:00 o’clock today. – thanks to S&E
