MAUDE MAYFIELD CARTER

KINGMAN – Mrs. Maude A. Carter, 97, of Rt. 1, Kingman, died this morning in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. She had been hospitalized one day. Born in Indiana on Dec. 26, 1879, she was a daughter of the Rev. George and Emma Lomax Mayfield. She was married to James A. Carter who died in 1939. She was a member of Freedom Christian Church near Wallace. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Veron (Pauline) Allen of Rt. 1, Kingman; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Services will be in Woodrow Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery east of Yeddo. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday. – jlr
