James Oliver Cartwright, 77 died early Tuesday morning at the Lake View Hospital in Danville after being there for about ten days, Mr. Cartwright had been in failing health for some time. He was born Feb 11, 1867, the son of William and Mary N. Baker Cartwright. He was married to Phoebe Ann McElwee, who preceded him in death four years ago.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Sniveley of Hoopeston; a son, Kelso of Veedersburg; a grandson; two great grandchildren; a half-brother, Harry of Veedersburg and a half-sister, Mrs. Bertha Redenbaugh of Fithian, Ill. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church where he hwas a member with Rev. Charles Howard officiating. Burial was in the Bonebrake Cemetery with Fishero & Son in charge. --- transcribed by kbz
