Mrs. Lula Mae Cartwright, 94, of Veedersburg, died Tuesday (July 27, 1971) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David (Kathryn) Odle, in El Jobean, Fla. She had been residing there the past three weeks. Born Sept. 10, 1876, at Howard in Parke County, she was the daughter of Jesse and Flora Wann Hicks. She was married Oct. 4, 1904 at Bloomingdale to Wilbur Cartwright, who died. Mrs. Cartwright was a member of the First United Methodsit Church, the Woman's Society of Christian Service and the Friday Study Club, all of Veedersburg. Survivors include her daughter; a son, Donald Fogleman of Veedersburg; a niece, Mary Louise Hicks of Terre Haute, who had resided with Mrs. Cartwright; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services at the First United Methodist Church of Veedersburg, with the Rev. Vernon Souder officiating. Burial at Silver Island Cemetery near Lodi.
