Funeral services for George Estel Casner, Rt. 3, Covington, who died 6:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, with Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, Ill. Masonic services were conducted Saturday evening at the funeral home by Fountain Lodge No. 60. Mr. Casner was born Jan. 8, 1911, at Henning, Ill., the son of William Earl and Margaret Bosley Casner. He was married June 23, 1941, to Lotta Belle Santmyre Fleenor, who survives. He attended Rossville elementary and high school, and was a former resident of Rossville and Gary. He had resided at Portland Arch the past 30 years. He had retired from Harrison Steel Castings Co. after many years as a melter. He was a member of Gary Lodge No. 677, F&AM. Surviving with the wife are a step-son, Gordon Fleenor, Covington; one brother, Carl R. Casner, Hoopeston; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Fay Shell, Estero, Fla.; Mrs. Margaret McBride, Rt. 3, Covington. Also surviving are five step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His parents, one sister and two brothers preceded him in death. - jlr
