CASON, William Pearl

William Pearl Cason, who would have reached his 70th birthday on August 12, died suddenly at his home, 513 east Chestnut street, at one o'clock, Thursday morning, after having been in declining health from a heart ailment for several years. Mr. Cason was born at Alamo, August 12, 1865, the son of Thomas and Margaret Farley Cason. His marriage to Samantha Canine was solemized December 1, 1901 in the Freedom church, southwest of Crawfordsville. Mr. Cason was a member of the Baptist church at Freedom and he also held membership in the Modern Woodmen's lodge. He is survived by his widow and four children - Mrs. Clarence Lowe, living six miles southwest of Crawforsdville; Mrs. Harold VanCleave, of Crawfordsville; George Cason of Yountsville and Pvt. William Cason, who is with the United States forces on overseas service. There are also 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Cason was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. Friends may call, to pay their respects at the residence; 513 east Chestnut street, until Saturday at the noon hour. Funeral services will be conducted from the Proffitt and Sons funeral home at two o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burial will be made in the cemetery near Freedom church. - kbz
