Mary A. Cates, 49, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday Oct 1, 1940 at her home in Covington after an extended illness. Daughter of Perry RObb and Queen E Robb, she was born nin Covington January 3, 1892, was married to Schuyler L. Cates, Oct 4, 1913, who survives, together with 7 children: Harold of Rantoul, Ill; Mrs. Ray King, Clayton, Ind; Charles; Leroy; Mary Eleanor; Delores and Martha at home. Also by one grandchild, one brother, Charles Robb of Covington; two sisters, Mrs Sherman Yerkes, RD, Covington and Mes. Jess Helmick, Crawfordsville, Ind. She was a member of the Christian Church and Eastern Star.
