CATING, George F.

  George E. Cating of Eugene, age 80, died Monday afternoon, March 14, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born at State Line, May 6, 1902, the son of George and Alta Howard Cating. He married Mable Fairchild, who survives. He was formerly and employee of the C. & E. I. Railroad.

  Also surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Clemmons of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jo Ann Smith; three sons, John of Euclid, Ohio, Joe of Danville, Illinois, and George E. Jr.; four sisters, Thelma Jones of Danville, Pauline Johnson of Chicago, Pearl Wentworth of Veedersburg and LaVerne Mika of Seminole, Florida; two brothers, Howard of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and earl of San Diego, California; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

  Funeral services were held this morning (Thursday) at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga with Rev. Alva High officiating. Burial was in Thomas Cemetery at Newport. – thanks to S
